I've been having a look on google and today it isn't my friend -

Basically does the RAF or MOD have the equivalent of the AIP where you can print charts accurate for flight planning or do you have to resort to purchasing an AFE / Pooleys guide?

I've looked specifically for these but can't see the wood for the trees.

Thanks

Yes, there is a Mil AIP, which has UK military airfield charts. You can access it online if you are military. Not sure how if you are not although most AIDU publications are available to purchase.

Google 'AIDU'. Other search engines are available.

The MAA directed that all "in scope" MOD Airfields should produce a Defence Arrodrome Manual (DAM) that should be made available to visiting pilots. The cut off date was release for 1 Jul 14 (ie. yesterday) to produce it. So give the airfiield that you want to visit a call and ask for their releasable version of the DAM.

Your reference is http://www.maa.mod.uk/linkedfiles/regulation/1000_series/ra1026.pdf and the paras of interest are 4 and 15.

Some airfields already have them on their internet sites - try using a search engine. I know that Benson has one on the internet http://www.raf.mod.uk/RAFbenson/rafcms/mediafiles/C08F31CB_5056_A318_A8AC2296A03DEA87.pdf
