Question re a video of the B2's coming into land at Fairford
which was posted on another thread.

It looked like they came into land with undercarriage down and just before touching down, flew off again and went round before coming into land again and actually landing.

Am I correct in what I was looking at and if so, why did they do this ?

Ah, the old "touchandgo" or "lowovershoot" ploys. Very popular in military circles in my day. Probably different now, everything else is.

I understand touch and go, but "lowovershoot" ?

Is that where they miss the touch down point ?

When I flew with the USAF in TAC only IPs or pilots with an IP were allowed to perform touch and goes. Line pilots were only permitted low approaches and full stops.
Some ac were not permitted touch and goes at all due to the fatigue on the airframe. Also, patterns were flown with the geardown to reduce gear cycles, which also consume fatigue.
