118 Sqn Spitfire pilots F/O John Brewster aged 25 and P/O Harold Williams aged 23, collided over the village of Seagry in April 1941, tragically killing both men. Although they are both buried near the former airfield of RAF Hullavington, the village of Seagry in Wiltshire is constructing and dedicating a memorial to these two pilots close to the site where Harold Williams lost his life.
There will be a ‘open to all’ Spitfire evening in the Seagry Village Hall on 9 July at 7:30pm to tell the story of pilots and the background to the accident and then a dedication ceremony on Sunday 14 September in Seagry (SN15 5ER , close to RAF Lyneham, J17 M4). The ceremony is being supported by the RAF, British Legion, ATC, Bristol UAS, members of the public and pilot’s relatives. Anybody needing more information, please PM me.

We were looking to find a Spitfire that could conduct a flypast on Sunday 14 September, however so far have not been lucky. If anybody knows of a friendly Spitfire that could assist in remembering these two Spitfire pilots, please PM me.
