Thanks for the tip GF4RCE but it's not a pretty picture. (http://www.pprune.org/middle-east/413526-turkish-airlines-thy-recruitment-merged-15.html)
(No shortage of tyre-kickers here though, given the amount of "views")

Chocks Away:
No probz at all just putting the information out there TO give others a choice.
to be fair while it may not be the ideal place or organisation to work for, it isnt that bad or dramatic as some people here put it. fact is there will always be a disgruntled population (as you seen in the thread you linked to) in any organisation which is then confounded by the fact by being an expat working away from home and working in an environment that sometimes test your understanding and even your faith in logic itself at times :).. but if you be objective and come her with realistic expectations and understand the terms and condition its not a bad place at all .... it a good move for the young FO's who would want to move up to heavier equipment to broaden their future career prospects

i been here in this geographic location for nearly 9 years now 5 of which in THY and though changing at a slow pace there are still some major hurdles to overcome for it to be a career orientated expat carrier but never the less its improving...

they are planning on sending a 777 Capt and the HR coordinator both who are also Australian.. so if you are attending just ask as many question you can ...ask ask ask ask...

GF4RCE are there any waivers on the heavy time for FO if I have a EASA licence?

DeltaT:
unfortunately not :( they are very stringent regarding the requirements especially the heavy jet time...

Skimming through its a bit messy - do you need an EASA endo to get a job or not? Surely they wouldn't tour oz looking for crew if it was so - can anyone confirm?
I can't make the roadshow.

Maggot, I've got a few ex EK777 mates there who have gone due to proximity to home (europe), they report a mixed bag in terms of working environment, and the word "chaotic" has been bandied about with reference to recruitment.

if you are rated on type with the hours THY require then a ICAO//FAA licence will suffice..
if your not type rated on the aircraft and applying for the non-type position (say you have time on the MD80, 747 etc..) the local DGCA (CAA) require the applicant to have a EASA licence for THY to issue a the type rating...

so to answer your question if your rated on the 737, a320 A330 B777 with the min required hrs then an icao licence will be enough...

yeh the screening has issue and it can be a bit overwhelming to some no doubt but the biggest issue is the bureaucracy involved with the govt. institutions like the working permit dgca etc... though steady progress is being made there is still a long way to go...
