If the airline you mean is Emirates, it's untrue. 777s are already scheduled for the KIX route, starting in August and YYZ won't come onstream until about 2004, with A340-500s.

Kuwait Airways, perhaps? I heard talk of them dumping their 777s and going all-Airbus?

No akerosid none of those Airlines you mentioned are the one's GF is talking to.
It makes good financial sence for GF to try to utilize the A340 on a profitable wet lease as opposed to selling them.

The airline in question is an Iranian one I believe by the name of Mahan (sp.?). The deal has not been finalized despite a MOA because of numerous legal issues. No one really knows whether GF will have only 2 A340's or all 5 of them come October.

:( :(
Just heard that the insurance and spare parts are getting in the way due even though its an airbus, its engines are ameriacn and the embargo against iranians for that is hindering the deal now,so its deals off i guess.
gf is on its own again!!!!
