Jetstar flight turned back after engine failure (http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2014/05/29/11/08/jetstar-flight-turned-back-to-singapore-after-engine-failure)

And a little more info from this website - sounds more like a precautionary shutdown than a failure. Typical journalistic drama.
Incident: Jetstar A332 near Singapore on May 28th 2014, engine shut down in flight (http://avherald.com/h?article=47515c42&opt=0)

Probably another really light load. It made more sense to do it with a single engine aircraft and QF couldn't give them a Cessna :E

Oh the joys of outsourcing engine maint.Once we were hero's now we are zero's.But then again it got a few managers a KPI or two and a big fat pay rise. We are heading towards the bottom.
