Noted on arrival in Sydney today 26 May 2014. No idea personally what happened or what the delay is expected to be. Not something you would expect to see on a Tripler, would you? Second image shows evidence of some type of impact damage.. ?

Catering truck impact, (the word is).
Fairings and panels not cheap and certainly not available at "Japanese Auto Parts".

Temporary Replacement Panel was manufactured by QantasEngineering,Cathay Pacific IAW AIR CANADA Airworthiness Directive. The R/H Aft Flap also had a significant delamination of the honeycomb plys. Required temporary repair for return flight to YVR.

And which catering trucks position to nbr 3 door on a 772? There are only toilets there. Oops, may have answered my own question :ok:

Could this damage have been caused during a spray operation?
The only thing that I can think of would be a spraying operation where the pod may have struck the airplane. ...in which case,... would that not have been noticed?
Obviously, any spraying would not have occurred in OZ, so it may have left Canada in this condition. Yikes.

Are we sure it was definitely a 200? If it was a 300 it could be part of the Door 3 overwing slide compartment located outside. That door has separated the Aircraft before on 300's and the slide has blown away.
Definitely a -200. AC only operates the -200LR to Sydney.
