"What is the biplane conducting the air-ground gunnery?"

An earlier version of the Mosquito that had the 6lb gun in it ????

Just love the "Muttley Medal" moment :}

Remarkable that Ilyushin Il-62 looks so much like the VC-10 :suspect:

500N - Haircut - I didn't think it was possible, but I was clearly wrong

biplane looks like an AN-2 Colt to me.

I'm surprised that any live firing was allowed anywhere near the Little Un.

No wonder I didn't notice it !

Well at least he isn't the only one to do that.

Remember the US Marine who saluted Obama and Obama stuck his hand
out to shake the Marines hand, quite a few awkward moments then as well !

Another classic example of the Inverse Square Law in action ...

Note how the "smiles" diminish the further away from the Glorious Leader you get :uhoh:

I gather it is now a law in the north that all men have to have a haircut like that. Guess it makes it less ridiculous. These guys must have a dispensation....until the cull for being "disloyal"

Can't remember where I read it quite recently but a British guy who ran in a marathon in N.K. recently said the compulsory haircut was a figment of a newshound's imagination.
It is an ever increasingly ridiculous look - as has been mentioned.

Jesus H, some of those pilots look around 99 years old.

Is it me or does the fat boy always have a vacant look in his eyes like he's high on something?

Just for Nutty ...

Inverse-square law

In physics, an inverse-square law is any physical law stating that a specified physical quantity or intensity is inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source of that physical quantity.

The intensity of "others smiling" as observed from the "Glorious Leader" falls off as the square of the distance from the "Glorious Leader". :ok:

Is that the Glorious Leader's wife sat next to him? Good lad :ok:

Very nice to see someone recognises a good aircraft when he sees one; I like his arrival on a VC10 (ski). Good lad :ok:

His late ever-lamented father, The Good Leader, hardly ever stepped on an aeroplane - went most places by train I think........

Just for a bit of fun ... I used the Google Web Page Translation tool to see what was said in the Official KPA Press Release on this "Historic Event" ... I now need a new keyboard, screen and trackpad ... hilarious just doesn't cover it ;)

Looks like 101 Squadron have been doing a bit of moonlighting ;)

Here it is ...

Google Translate (http://www.google.com/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF8&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fbmpd.livejournal.com%2F845788.html)

It may just be the translation tool ... but there are some real gems here :}

Plane with the Supreme Commander of the KPA Kim Jong Un landed. Commander of the guard of honor of the Air and Air troops KPA Supreme Commander gave distinguished report on the reception. Played "Patriotic Hymn", a respected Supreme Commander inspected the guard of honour.

Commander of the Air and Air Forces of the KPA General of the Army Air Force Air Force Lee Byung Chol gave a speech about the beginning of the competition. He said that these momentous events take place on the personal initiative of the esteemed Supreme Commander for the first time in history after the founding of the KPA, and declared the competition open.

Trust me it gets better ...

Got to say I thought it was a trolley dolly getting off the jet with him then the penny dropped when I saw them sitting together.

Ri Sol Ju is the lucky lass who is Mrs Kim

and anyone who laughs at the Google translation should read the Court Circular from Buck House

A recent favourite was

"The Countess of Wessex sends a message to HMS DARING, 13 November 2013
The Countess of Wessex, Sponsor of HMS DARING, has sent a personal message of support to the Commanding Officer and Crew of the ship as she sails towards to the Philippines to assist with humanitarian work following the typhoon in the region."

Not at all clear which "she" is going to do the humanitarian work for a start............

With regards to the IL-62, the DM says:
At first glance, the aircraft bears some similarity to the U.S.
President's personal jet.

Yup, they are both aircraft..................:ugh::D

This is like watching some badly produced 70's movie... just add Roger Moore, Odd-Job and some 'baddies' in a Lancia wearing a turban/Fez/balaclava and there you have it - one block-buster! :ok:

Recent Sunday Times magazine had an article by a guy who escaped from N Korea, describing the conditions in that country, and the punishment, usually death, for quite minor crimes.

Having recently re-watched the entire series of 'Department S' I wholeheartedly concur!

Don't forget the white Jag driving off a cliff. No doubt containing one or more of little 'un's uncles or ex-generals.
