Jetalliance + Social Security Contributions

Hello all!

I used to be on one of Jetalliance Flugbetriebs GmbH's Jets for a limited period of time a couple years ago. Now I received a questionnaire from the "NÖ Gebietskrankenkasse" (the insurance carrier) inquiring about the payment (or non-payment) of Social Security Contributions for that time.
Has anybody experienced the same thing and if so, how did you deal with that?

Didn't they go bust because they did not pay their social security? Be careful what you send as you want to make sure it will not bite you in the backside :bored:

I asked your question to another JAG refugee, and he told me that the burden is on the company to pay the social security.
The questions are probably something to do with their avoidance of this by employing people through a Malta subsidiary for 10 years, until the Austrians put a stop to it and demanded 10 years of back-taxes / SVA. But you probably knew that story already...
I guess they're chasing the company and not you. Good luck :cool:

A good point DEEC ,but my ex-JA mate tells me that the company should have paid the employee's contributions on behalf of the employee, so threesixty should not be liable.

@DEEC: I totally agree what you are saying,that both parties have to contribute to the SVA.
But the point is, that there has never been a working contract between me and JA. I was completely self-employed and paid taxes+ SVA in my country of residence for that time.
Just like I would have been a plumber fixing some things in JA's Office, send them an invoice and now the authorities come and say JA and me should pay SVA for that.:ugh:

I bit the bullet and replied, got something back from them, got my german speaking wife to deal with it and she called them, something like after ex amount of years (5?)you get some money back, think around 2000 euros. its from what JAG should have been paying for employees and were not, some sort of social payment. i pay my taxes in CH .

It was only a matter of time before they would get caught out, the way they laid people off someone probably grassed them up anyway!

on another note, you were wearing a JAG uniform, took your orders from JAG, had a JAG mobile phone, credit card and interview was at the head office. you should be an employee but they elected not to do that bit and put you on another contract name, then changed them then to another name, told you if you dont sign you dont have a job, good going!
