Since AOC for QA company "Al Maha Airways" was rejected, Qatari airline started to look for another way of expansion.

Following the example of Etihad, QA is about to buy a stake (well the whole thing basically) in Bosnian Airlines in order to compete with Etihad.

Bosnia was chosen for the simple fact that they are not part of EU making the regulations less strict, followed by cheap labor and pretty good geographical position.

This is just a rumor that leaked out from QA circles. What do you guys think?

When was the AOC for Al Maha rejected? This is news to me, there has been no official statement regarding this. Whats your source?

As of the end of March the statements regarding the airline indicate that it will open end of this year.

Traditional delay in startup, though plans still "on track" for Al Maha airways.
