It's an overpriced service for most purposes anyway. I used it once, a week after it started and I didn't think it was worth a tenner back then, given the onward tube travel I needed from Paddington to Kings X.

Much cheaper on the tube, and I don't think they're striking until the following week.

Given that the RMT could not organise a piss-up in a brewery, the main issue is the uncertainty. Maybe 75% of services will run, but will the one I want run?

The only RMT strength was its single position effectively able to cripple the underground, with no practical alternative available. Love or hate Bob Crowe, he knew this and used it to maximum effect, but the claims of him being a great negotiator are pure hogwash. He had all the aces and kings in every hand and even a moron would win.

Heathrow Express is different - there are multiple alternatives so I suspect the RMT is about to be dealt a pair of two's at best and discover how much power they have in this situation.
