I'm looking at using my computer to play DVDs into my TV. Does anyone have any suggestions of appropriate TV / graphics cards.

I may in the future buy a DVD-RAM / RW and copy home videos onto it so any info on cards that have this capability would be appreciated.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I highly recommend the ATI All-in-Wonder 8500 DV.
-DirectX8.1 hardware accelerator
-AGP 4X and 2X compatible
-Analog and DV Video in and out
-Stereo TV tuner
-DVD player
-displays on screen your work while TV out active
-64MB DDR own 230MHz coe clock
-full 3D
-loaded with software, high compression to use HD as Videomachine
-DVI encoder for flat panel

and it really does a brilliant job, we build the card into Multimedia-presentation units as well as multi-purpose systems.

I have a GF2 (64Mb TV Out) and I bought the cables to connect to my TV so I could watch DVD's. Only one word comes to mind - cr*p. I think it is because the TV is only capable of a low resolution, something like 640X480. It might be better on a better TV

Thanks 310.

I'm reasonably up on IT but I haven't had cause to look into Video cards before now.

Tall, I'll bear that in mind - sounds like I'll be avoiding that one.

Anyone else got any suggestions?
