I'm sure they would have headed for a watery grave if they tried to fly a 320 direct across the Atlantic. I wish the press would show the right type of aircraft when relating these stories.

Yes but BA's 318 has an extra fuel tank and only 32 seats whereas a Monarch 320 has around 150 seats and is a short haul aircraft. The Daily Mail's the same, wrong picture.

I think we would be disappointed nowadays if they got it right, we all look forward to a press related [email protected] up :-D

No extra fuel tanks on the BA A318s. Standard fit.

One is reminded of the Peter Ustinov anecdote, in which the aircraft he was on board made sudden manoeuvres at intervals....After a lengthy period of this the Lufthansa captain made the announcement; "ladies und gentlemen, you vil be pleased to know zat ve haff regained control of ze aircraft"

Heard a nice one the other day going into JNB, the captain said "We shall be routing in over Hillbrow so you might want to keep your valuables away from the windows"

Got a laugh out of me but it went over the heads of many of the pax.
