Hi there,
In the 737 MRG the author states that the objective of the NNC for Cargo Door Open is to minimise the pressure differential between the upper and lower deck. This is the reason for setting 9000ft in the Land Alt and beginning a descent if you are in the cruise when it happens.
I vaguely remember reading a report where several rows of seats collapsed through the floor upon depressurisation. I'm curious as to whether the type was 737 and if that is what drove the checklist. Can anybody shed some light?
