I know this link is from the Mail but it's in the Times as well, what utter rubbish !

Britain's 'boys' club' culture makes it the most sexist country in the world says UN expert | Mail Online (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2605235/Britains-boys-club-culture-makes-sexist-country-world-says-UN-expert.html)

the True Blue Aussie "bloke" culture

Does anybody really care what the UN thinks about anything?:uhoh:

500N

No.

They come out with these reports and only the left care.

They do it here in Aus on a range of subjects, except now the Gov't just ignores them, doesn't even comment :ok:

It was in the Telegraph also UN: Britain's sexism more 'pervasive' than any other country - Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/womens-politics/10767784/UN-Britains-sexism-more-pervasive-than-any-other-country.html)

With a name such as hers surely she is aware of far worse countries than the UK
for "Sexism".

Ask any Italian woman with a black and blue bum from pinching on public transport.

Any Indian woman who fears rape on a daily basis.

Any Pakistani woman who has been raped and then finds herself being prosecuted for immoral behaviour.

Ask any Saudi woman ... , well I could go on.

UN Expert? Another good example of an oxymoron :*

UN 'rapporteur' trolling for turds to justify a fat expense account.

I wouldn't trust anyone connected with the UN to sit the right way round on the shitter.

Are we actually sure there is a use for the UN? It is not only expensive but unfit for purpose.

No.

Some of the people opening their yaps about this need to learn what sexism is.

Give me strength.

Hard to argue with your point there.

"a human rights lawyer"

The worst kind !

The HR part of the UN seems to sprout off on a regular basis over here in Aus
but are getting no traction with anyone and it shows by the way they are wording things - it shows they are desperate to be listened to.

UN 'rapporteur' trolling for turds to justify a fat expense account.

And that's the problem.

If she found that, on balance, there was no particular problem with sexism in this country or elsewhere then there'd be no need for her job to exist......

It does seem that the female of the species have too much time on their hands nowadays. Surely they should be busy enough keeping a neat & tidy home, making sure their husband has a pleasant evening meal to come home to, making sure the children are clean and presentable, that the laundry & ironing has been done and put away.

Really they shouldn't be having the time to worry their pretty little heads about some imagined slight.

Dear oh dear oh dear.

Perhaps one way for the UN to re-focus and correct some of the perceived current general shortcomings, wastage and lures, is to re-locate its HQ from New York to Abuja.

Many, many years ago, in the Dhofar mountains of Oman near the (then) South Yemen border, a young military man said to another slightly older military man ... "These tales of Arab men treating their wives as second class seems to be a bit wide of the mark - all these local guys seem to follow several footseps behind their wives..." The older military man did not shift his gaze from the horizon. "Land mines" was all he said ....

The most racist people are those doing the accusing.

Or Radio 4's Womans Hour which to crudely paraphrase Orwell seems to work on the principle "Two tits good - two balls bad" :*. It usually lasts about 10 minutes before I switch over to Radio 3 for some soothing classical music.

Hypocrisy at its worst.

(If the intent was satire, sorry if I missed that).

ArthurR, just to give you an idea on what's wrong with the question:
I can recognize a crocodile without being one myself.

ArthurR

racism is a state of mind.

How does one become a racist? Is this supposed 'state of mind' bought about by illness or is it knowledge based?

If a 'racist mind state' is an illness is there a cure?

If a 'racist mind state' is knowledge based does this imply that all those with the knowledge are racist or can we assume that some with that knowledge are racists whilst some will have chosen not to be racists?

ArthurR

SFFP, just for you, Collins English Thesaurus definition of "State of Mind"

noun

Oh my, oh my!!!! Obviously, ArthurR does not stand for "Arthur Rimbaud"!!! Ha ha ha !!!...
Intrigued by the subject of this thread, I thought only a woman could tell it as it is since, well, how could I judge ? I am bloke... so asked my very beautiful, feminine British partner of these 38 last years who could compare, at least between French and British behaviour, having spent 20 of these in France. The answer came loud and clear... French men are macho and only have sex on their mind but in order to get some... treat Women with more respect than English men who are macho but have foot-ball on their mind and forget all about their Women just to watch a match with their mates and a beer....
Not on the head! I am only reporting, do not shoot the messenger!....
(may be it has something to do with diet?? see thread about cooking!)
Just teasing...
