I received the message below at my personal email address today.
I was a little bit surprised but very touched by the gesture. Especially as I retired from CX in 2008.

Henry Chan [email protected]
The roster for May 2014 has been uploaded to Crew Direct (http://intracx.cathaypacific.com/CRS/html/crewDirect.htm). If you have received this email at your personal email address, please log-in to iConnect (http://iconnect.cathaypacific.com/) to access Crew Direct.
Upon entering Crew Direct, please select 'Published Roster' for your roster. If you wish to check the roster of other Flight Crew, please select the 'Master Roster'.
Please also note that the 'Real Time Roster' and 'Crew List' functions are not normally be available until three working days after Roster Publication.
Thank you,

ICM Scheduling

Ah yes I had the same message too as have several other retirees. Glad to see that they need us still.

Hopefully we can all travel out on the same flight?

Should be a good party!

I know the S/Os will welcome us with open arms.

Think of yourselves as Air Force reserve chaps.
Gbp200/day, tax free (honestly, you can trust and believe their tax advice!), not to mention all the sandwiches and artery cracking crew meals you can eat.
Free stylish clothing provided, scintillating conversations with your co-workers, all in the clean air and open spaces of the Pearl river delta.
Maybe it's a tacit admission they are now aware of sickness levels at high levels, reluctance of current crew to work on their days of rest, so they're just hedging their bets by keeping in touch with experienced old hands.
Come on back boys, the water's lovely!

Yep I got one too, but only retired for a couple or three years.

The feeling as I deleted it was very warming...

Would you be interested in swapping my block of reserve for your days off?

I chuckled too when Henry advised me that my roster was available...

Ah, CX IT, I miss it, he says 'tongue in cheek'.

Totally IT meltdown now . IntraCX isn't operational.

Glad they fired all those IT guys a whole back.. Obviously didn't need them.

Hopefully, personnel at the "salary paying section" will be equally "affected" and I can look forward to deposits into my bank account on the 26th of each month!

Please everyone reply and say you're having problems viewing it.

I'd like to see how long it takes for them to figure out you're no longer working for CX or they give you a missed duty!!! :}

Best idea ever. Do it!!!

Well that explains why I keep getting called out , CrewControl obviously expects the retirees to undertake any number of trips and they selfishly miss their duties so they get an MD next to their names and someone else is called from reserve to cover for them

I'd forgotten what a racist video that was. Thanks for reminding me Tony.:ok:

A few years ago a mate of mine was across the lawyers table from his now ex-wife who complained to him that crew control kept ringing her with trip requirements for him, despite her telling them repeatedly that he didn't work for CX any longer. He'd left CX some 8 months prior.

So he told her to tell them that next time they called "let them know that I'll be there."

Only happened once more.

Indeed!! Come August the Angry Man will be looking for some work, no doubt being back out on the line would appeal to him. Perhaps the Skull and Warham will be rostered together??

I think Warham and the Skull are Bus Boys....over to you too lose fellas.

But we look forward to the King back on the freighter:ok:

The Screamer was mainly Boeing; he may have been on the Bus at the end for a short time for his basing.

I'm sure he and the Swire Bottler would handle a quick Boeing refresher: as Second Officers of course!

Come to think of it, Dragonair may be short of captains soon. The Skull, an MPL First Officer and Chinese ATC: now there's a cockpit from hell.

There is an apocryphal story of a QANTAS captain from many years ago who retired without telling his wife; he would pack his bags, put on his uniform...and go and stay with his girl friend.

He was rumbled when the wife rang Crewing asking where he was down-route.

The Swire Bottler is back? In what capacity?

That would be hilarious! Mr Angry popping a blood vessel and screaming his way through top of decent up until brakes applied! Then there would be the verbal abuse all the way to the crew bus, back to the hotel, to the concierge desk and during the elevator ride up to the crew rooms!
Welcome Skull :ok:
