BA Cabin Crew take note....you could be made April Fools one day, too.

On 1st April BA made April Fools of "older" retired staff by finally taking the action of kicking us out of access to the former staff / retiree rebate travel concession, promised to us for the duration of our retirement when we joined all those years ago, - e.g. we had a "Legitimate Expectation" - and for which we worked to forge the airline that management, and you, now have the privilege of working for.

In their Newsletter to retired staff yesterday, BA mentions a 3rd party organisation that allows staff of many airlines to purchase rebate tickets on many carriers, i.e. BA sell tickets on a BA aircraft, at a discount, and claim that they make some profit from so doing, to staff of participating airlines, except - wait for it..... BA's own retired staff !

Not content with kicking us out of the BA scheme, they won't even let us take advantage of the offers they allow other airline retirees !

Note too that Iberia retirees - part of the same IAG Group as you - are not being treated this way, they will still enjoy their rebate travel throughout retirement - All For One and One For All - Yeah! Right!

You won't have to worry about me on being board ever again, guess which airline I won't be buying tickets with !

This was my reply to the Newsletter ..............

ARPB travel offers

From your Newsletter received today........quote:~

"............the BA deal mentioned on the ARPB website is a commercial deal not available to BA retirees ........."

In other words - BA are prepared to allow retirees of other airlines to purchase BA rebate tickets, but not their own !!! - and this via a third party organisation !!!

Beggars belief, and only confirms my present opinion of BA as a result of their reneging on a "Legitimate Expectation" of Staff Travel for life once retired, promised to us all so many years ago.

BA's attitude to those who forged the airline that you all have the privilege of working for is despicable.

Further comment would make me liable for prosecution under Obscene Publications legislation.

Goodbye.
