Hi all,

I have look through the MD11 manual last night and I spot the "Overboost bar". I tried google for more detail about it but nothing came up.

Can anyone tell me how this overboost bar work in MD11 ? And if I push and hold it continuously, what engine rpm would I archive?

Best regards

Called the FADEC BAR.

THROTTLES
Thrust is set by N1 for GE or EPR for P&W.
The three throttles are driven manually by the pilot or automatically by the autothrottle system (ATS). The ATS operation can be overridden by the pilot at any time.
Forward travel of the throttles is limited by an overboost stop. This stop has a detent that allows continued forward movement of the throttles when they are pushed with a strong force. This extra forward travel causes the following:
• • • •
ATS disconnects.
FMS thrust is overridden.
ECU or EEC provides maximum emergency thrust (alternate mode). An ENG (1, 2, or 3) FADEC ALTN alert is displayed.
Each throttle has an attached piggyback lever to control reverse thrust.

On the GE the full overboost thrust is 116% (16% more than max thrust of 61500 lb/thr)
