G'day PPruners,

I've been searching around for some information on this buy can't seem to find anything.

Has anyone tried to record their cockpit intercom audio with one of these (https://gumroad.com/l/bbcable)? Is it legal or bound to get one in trouble for connecting it into an aircraft?

I'm a low time PPL student and thought of recording the time I spend in the cockpit to review my lessons. I have a 50gram video recorder which I secure onto the side of my sunglasses to give a point-of-view recording, but having the audio would be better! I also have an in-ear headset so the whole stick-a-mic-in-your-earmuff setup doesn't work either!

Thanks in advance guys! :ok:

I can't see how this is legally any different from plugging in a headset.. unless a headset is classed as an aircraft component

Headsets have a TSO. Technically not kosher AFAIK, but wouldn't be losing too much sleep over it.

I don't think I got an ARC with my headset? Do I need a LAME to install it

certainly not something to lose sleep over, but an interesting academic discussion...

I predict that this thread has just kept 10 CASA 'professionals' employed for another 10 years!
