I opened up an Excel page and one of my tasks was to highlight a column of numbers and add them using the Ɇ symbol on the toolbar. The toolbar had gone, replaced by a Word type toolbar. I have reinstalled Office but it is still the same. How do I get my old toolbar back?

That symbol above is the nearest that I can remember.

Try view, toolbars and see if you can find it there. Or just enter "=sum(cell1:cell2) in the box you want the solution to appear in. Don't include the quotations and replace cell1 with the first in the column and cell2 with the last in the column you want to add

What version of Excel are you using? What OS?

Try view, toolbars and see if you can find it there.

Straighten Up: That was it. Somehow the tick had migrated from 'Standard'. Reticked it and everything is back to normal,

Thanks a million.
