Seeing our Prime Minister in his infinite wisdom has reintroduced the appointment of Knights and Dames (4 per year) in Australia, I thought it would only be fitting to go with the flow and become a Lord myself.

Become a Lord, Laird or Lady | Buy a Plot of Land in Scotland (http://www.highlandtitles.com/)

Only 29.99 and I think it's legit.

Are there any Lords here that can comment on the pros and cons of being one?

Better stick to becoming a Lord of the Manor in England, There's an auction (http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/news-releases/buy-your-own-lordship-of-the-manor-title---dating-from-the-domesday-book-156034775.html) coming up soon.
Come the Referendum, a title in Scotland may well become totally worthless

Or worse, everything might be your fault!

House of Commons Hansard Debates for 3 Nov 1999 (pt 18) (http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm199899/cmhansrd/vo991103/debtext/91103-18.htm)

See the above from Hansard - It would appear Mr Farrow is a nasty piece of work.

I can sell you a star* in a far away galaxy for 999.99. If you want the entire solar system that orbits your chosen star then that will be an additional 4999.99. I'll even throw in a free trip around your star each year when you decide to visit one of your planets.

* binary and variable star systems, terms on request.

** Red giant stars available on a two for one basis, get them while they're still hot.

I would not recommend the Lairdship of Glencoe to anyone bearing the surname Cambell.:uhoh:
