The Honourable Company of Air Pilots

Journalists are frequently criticised for incompetent reporting about aviation matters and grossly exaggerated 'Horror!' 'Terror in the skies!' stories.

Here's a chance to nominate an individual journalist, publication or organisation for an outstanding contribution to the promotion or public awareness of aviation in general or of any important aspect of aviation activity.

More information about how to nominate: Call for Nominations (https://www.airpilots.org/about-the-company/trophies-and-awards/call-for-nominations/)
Closing date 31 May 2014

The 2013 Award for Aviation Journalism was won by Pat Malone who was presented with the trophy at the annual Trophies & Awards Banquet at the London Guildhall.

Extract from Citation: Pat Malone is an aviation journalist who writes with a passion for flying, and all matters to do with aviation, that stems from being a current and long-time practising pilot, including being a qualified helicopter instructor. He writes a regular page for ‘Pilot’, the monthly magazine well known to general aviation pilots and enthusiasts, and a glance through his recent offerings shows just how well he communicates his love and zeal for light aviation. He has the knack of being able to engage the reader’s interest through his own particular personal style, honed from spending his initial years in employment as a journalist on the ‘London Evening Standard’.
