Yes they are. If you have some jet time already you might be in with a chance.

They also have a requirement that you have a maximum of one head. If you meet that requirement, and you are a shoe in!

Could someone please send me a PM with a HR persons e-mail address or a direct phone number as their mailbox is full and no one answers the phone number provided on PPJN

You would be better off trying Dragonair. They are taking non-rated DEFO on the 330. Check the website but I think they want 3000hrs.

I had a look at dragon, I don't have the 3000 total time :(

Don't feel too badly. I have over 3000TT, and Dragonair won't call. I wish they would. Seems like a good outfit.

Scott T,

Do you really think that an airline whose mailbox is full and won't answer the phone is worth a shot? Doesn't sound too professional does it?

Scott T,

Many years ago I too was starting out.

I didn't rely on others, I went to HK on my own,
rocked up and spoke to someone.

Consequently I was hired.

That's how you get a job

twotigers you are an arrogant piece of work, cut the young guy some slack, one day it maybe your son or daughter looking for some help.

This place never ceases to amaze me, you all forget very quickly you where once the newbie looking for help

Scott T send me a PM, lets see if we can help you

Sorry.. My turning up and showing an interest is arrogant?

Vs Scott's position of applying for a job where someone will invest 20-30,000 from his couch.

I'm sorry.. You're out to lunch on this.

My son or daughter (there are three) will all be smart enough
to earn their own jobs.

Twotigers first of all I am not a newbie I am 737 rated and experienced, I was laid of from my first job which I got through networking and "showing up" as you put it, I have noticed there are allot more airbus jobs than Boeing at the moment hence why I am looking for an airline that are hiring non rated airbus pilots, I agree that showing up and speaking to people is a good idea but to travel all the way to Hong Kong without even knowing if they are hiring non rated bus pilots is a bit ridiculous, I am simply looking for a telephone number or an inside e-mail address so I can find out exactly what their current recruitment requirement etc

@lakes PM sent and thank you.

Why is it rediculious ? Them taking a chance on someone whose
only effort is digital is more so.

Sorry. Anyone I know (@cx) worked for their job.
Buy a ticket. Stand on their porch and apply.

Whilst here, check out other operators too, as you're applying to the worst one.
Hardly something to aspire to.

Well they ask potential candidates to apply online via e-mail, if I get an interview they will get to meet me, I will find my trip if needs be so they have nothing to loose really......

Regarding other operators, I do not have the hours for dragon, and I am sure Cathay are not recruiting direct entry FO's

and I am sure Cathay are not recruiting direct entry FO's

Now I see the problem.

If you'd said that you thought Cathay's C-scale local package was undervaluing our profession, you'd have gained much respect and "street cred" here (maybe even from twotigers).

Instead you come across as someone who thinks he's "above" being a SO. Well, let me explain to you that based upon the fact that you don't have the hours for Dragon, LOTS of people with a lot more experience than you have joined Cathay via the SO track.

And when Cathay experimented with direct entry FOs a few years ago, there was quite a bit of that "attitude" in some of the recruits.

"LOTS of people with a lot more experience than you have joined Cathay via the SO track"

Not in many years, I'll bet....

Good advice by Twotigers, I have got 3 jobs that way, and travel far and wide, Dubai and Caribbean. In Dubai I waited by the security gate for 2 days to intercept the CP. Door knocking works.

Anyone here interviewed with HKA recently on the 320? I like to know more about the written test. Is it like an faa atpl written test? Any 320 questions in it? What about the technical interview? Sim profile? Any other advice is greatly appreciated. The panel interview, is it 2-on-1 with a pilot and an HR?

Thx

You don't need to stress about the interview, just turn up, and if you've got a pulse you'll be a shoe in.

You ask on here a sensible question and get a stupid answer. No wonder I've never bothered before.
