I worked for Saudia for 7 years back in the 80's when the money and conditions were good.I believe that it is a different story now. If you go there you will rapidly find out what it must have been like to be a black South African in the time of apartheid. It served a purpose for me in as much as I made and saved a fair amount of money and met my wife there.Would I do it again? No. As far as the worse the place the better the salary - my next job was 4 years in the Philippines with better conditions and 50% higher salary.

Based on salaries for one of the major maintenance organisations, about $5000 per month excluding housing etc. Figure varies based on qualifications.

Hello from Manila Peter. Came here to do some house renovation and my annual report to immigration as I have resident status. Ended up in hospital with suspected stroke but it turned out to be Bells Palsy so my face is a little right wing low at the moment but improving. Will contact you after I get home March 5th.

A little better every day - never felt ill - just the right side of my face wouldn't bloody move and sagged a bit - the asymmetry is almost gone much quicker than forecast. Thanks to both of you for your good wishes.
