Have searched the web, and the Norwegian AIP (as much of it as I can find/understand) and can't find this information.

Off airport landings:

Like the UK (ie fairly free and easy)?
Like the Netherlands (absolutely nowhere)?
Right to roam - ie anywhere but don't leave a trace or annoy anyone
Something else?

Would love to hear from anyone who has already flown around Norway...

Fly safe, Sam.

I did have a briefing pack somewhere, but what sticks in the mind is 'Mink Farms', very sensitive!

Never flown there, flown only in Sweden, but if I remember correctly, what I´ve heard from the second hand - Norway is restrictive (sth like Holland...:=)

Flew in Sweden. Landed anywhere the landowner gave permission. Hassle free...

Flying in beautiful Norway.
Useful VFR guide VFR-guide for Norway - 2013 Edition - Luftfartstilsynet (http://luftfartstilsynet.no/caa_no/article10279.ece)

This site may prove useful for grass strips etc.

As far as I remember its just landowners permission required.

Be aware that landing with landowners permission is only allowed on cultivated land. ("Innmark") All use of motorized transport outside cultivated land ("Utmark") are subject to special permission from the authorities. It does not matter if it is a ATV, motorbike, snow mobile, helicopter or Cub on skies, same rules. Same goes for fresh water lakes and waterways, frozen or not.

The rules are MUCH stricter than in Sweden.

Law for motorized travel outside cultivated land (In Norwegian) (http://lovdata.no/dokument/NL/lov/1977-06-10-82/%C2%A74#%A74)
