View Full Version : Private 787 ?

Having seen a good few 787's in the last year, apart from the problems the programme is going through, it would seem that it will be a commercial success (as much as any of them are with financial wizardry). I know that a few will be delivered to governments as VIP craft, but I didn't imagine that they would be sold as pure private aircraft. Yesterday I came across this one N28MS doing test flights in the USA. If it is a BBJ replacement (?) who owns it and what kind of usage would it have bearing in mind it is designed for long haul ?

Well there were several when I looked that up, though none seemed to be the type with a deep enough wallet for such a steed :8 I had thought that it might be Micro$oft or some Chinese billionaire gambler needing to flit between China and Las Vegas, seeing as the 787 is for very long 'thin' routes in the passenger mode.

I'm sure M. Dell can indeed afford it but does not sound such a wise investment at this point. I hope I will be proven incorrect ...

Ha ha, you'd need your own ministry of finance to be able to own and operate one of these large bizjets privately!
