Hi guys

just to find out if its possible to get onto a jar 66(aeroplane) course and do the licence without being sponsored by an airline or through an apprenticeship and if so who does courses(apart from Air service Training at perth in scotland,
I am studying my HNC aero eng (already got my national cerificate)at college and unfortunately I cant get an apprenticeship anywhere(im only 18), also done 4 weeks training experience with BA engineering at GLA on the 737's
Missed the boat for monarch, brits and flc aerospace + i will be to old for them next year, tried virgin last year didnt get in, passed the tests aswell, BA is to competitive and the RAF is a no go, i got offered a job at blackpool fixing squibs(100 quid a week)(couldnt even cover my accomadation) but I want to fix the big boys, any ideas lads,

thanking you in advance

see ya

Your right you have missed the boat for Britannia, 17 1/2 I believe, but as far as I am aware Monarch take on up to 21 and even over that in certain circumstances although that may have changed recently so I stand to be corrected. Try emailing this address [email protected], I believe he is in charge of training at Monarch and would be able to give you more up to date info. As for doing the licence I believe Brunel College in Bristol still runs 2 year JAR-66 courses. Give them a try.

Hope this is of help

Picky, picky. There's lots of people can't spell accommodation. Thirty-five years ago I couldn't spell licenced engineer ........

Have you tried KLM UK at Norwich, they were doing some Jar 66 training and have a training school there so may be worth giving them a buzz - pardon the pun. Also try BMI as they may be running an apprentice scheme as the engineers are starting to leave them I hear.

Cheers and Beers.......
