I hadn't heard of this memorial before. A fascinating story.

An almost incredible story, and how easily we forget that the French had their own Lockerbie, less than a year later. I wonder if the 25th anniversary will be commemorated on-site in September.

What fine, independent airlines were UTA and its predecessors, UAT and TAI. Like BCAL, its British counterpart, UTA eventually fell victim to the whims of its country's politicians and regulators.
