View Full Version : DC-9 cargo plane was damaged in a landing accident at Saltillo Airport, Mexico.

The airplane originated in Tapachula, Mexico and operated on a domestic cargo flight to Saltillo. The airplane'nose gear collapsed after it departed the paved surface of the runway.

It was pretty foggy....I wonder what happened. A series 30 wouldn't
be as likely to land nose first as a series 10, would it?

hi lazy man

as you probably know the DC9-30 has leading edge devices (SLATS) and would come in slightly nose high. the DC9-10 doesn't have the slats and might come in a bit nose low.

I've seen the DC9-30 come in pretty fast and still not hit nosewheel first.

Its a great plane, they have called the DC9 the last pilot's airliner and I agree!

Maybe they stopped making good pilots when the production line stopped for the DC9
