Good luck down there, Gary caused the pilot strike at DHL/ASTAR then lost the DHL contract and DHL airways/ASTAR shutdown all 200 crews and staff out of work. He then went as COO World Airways who just filed chapter 11 bankruptcy before Xmas ( for the second time in 12 months ) in USA, he was before that a parts guy from Northwest ( LinkedIn )
No idea what he is doing in the Aussie system ? Bull in a china shop.

Don't you have operational people in Australia ? Why do you import everyone look at the CEO at QF .........

Well he obviously has the right 'must haves' for the role. Did HR get him to do a dance and build a house of cards with the other kiddies? Is he taller than Il Deuce?
Be interesting to see Jimmy Shoo's assessment of the new COO, maybe the COO will put the razor through flight ops?

Awesome!

Should follow on well from the two previous Americans who left a trail of destruction.

Never heard of this guy before, but there was nothing wrong with the last two Americans. I wish they were still here, they hadn't finished the task.

Did the other two Americans you mention have two chapter 11 bankruptcies and a shutdown under their belt with 1000s out of work ???????????
You sure know how to pick your ex pats down there AUS must go for the left overs.

Just look at the Qantas Board...Mr Goodmanson has a great track record with Chapter 11, 2 at last count.

He was so aggressive with the crews and regulator when he got to COO at DHL Airways US the FAA threatened to pull the 121 Air Carrier cert and a fresh Director Flt Ops and support staff bought in to calm things down. He then threatened DHL head office in Germany so they called the bluff and gave the contract to ABX and ATI we all lost our jobs ?
Then onto World Airways for another crack at DHL with 737s but the contract went to Southern so he Filed chapter 11 bankruptcy and jumps to VA (WTF). The guy is out of Kentucky has a house in Bahamas so doubt he will be on the same rules as the VA staff, paying tax in Australia etc You may want to ask your CEO why, why, why a second tear chapter11 cargo guy from USA to run VA ??? :ugh:

Don't worry, once he stares Australian arrogance about all things aviation and our overwhelming need to reinvent the wheel, in the face, he'll be off like the previous two Americans. Oh, and if that doesn't do it, our falling $, ridiculous taxes and insane over pricing will seal the deal.

I give him 12 months, if that.
