Not sure if this should be posted here or on questions but… Some years ago (so the story goes)someone decided to put a down payment on a Lotus something or other before the first one had rolled of the production line. Now this was at a time when there was a depression on and this someone was being a bit naughty in that he knew he couldn’t afford the finished article but thought that by the time the car was ready there would be plenty of people knocking about with the money and wanted that model of car, but were not going to get there hands on one until those with their name down had got theirs first and he might make a killing… a bit naughty….but hey very entrepreneurial. . .Now just suppose that such a situation existed today and a well known a/c manufacturer was struggling a bit because there weren’t the orders going around for their new model and an expanding airline decided to effectively buy their production line for the next year or two without any intention of taking the whole order. Do you think that airline would make a killing???????????
