G'day. I'm sitting FE at the start of next year and was wondering if anyone has or knows of any reference material/notes or prac exams to study for the exam. I don't have very much and CASA aren't being very helpful even though they list references themselves.
Cheers

Hey
Sat wood and fabric exams some time ago. Inbox me and will send some stuff
Made fairly random notes on what I remember from the CASA exams . AC43.14-1b is the source of their questions. Also a good is Aircraft Maintenance by Bent and McKinley listed in their syllabus. They have questions in the Bent/Mckinley book that are helpful to answer. The other book 'Aircraft Fabric Covering' is useless for exam purposes
Mind you I did scrape through on 75% for both :)
Any more than 75% is a waste of effort. I'm sure you had better things to hold in your head.
In the UK the CAA are screwing us older ex-BCAR guys with this as well, in the form of a license Lim, not a lot of referance kicking around but the good old FAA seem to have it covered.
Not sure if it might be of help, but back when dinosaurs ruled the earth & I did the A&P, I boned up on wood/fabric.The A&P study guide provided enough info to pass the oral & practical - Base Ball stich anyone ?
