I dug out a Signal535 from the loft.
It has been up there since the internal batteries failed and it failed to display anything.
I have replaced the two ntype batteries and the display now appears.
It powers up ok
MANU ch2 freq
BUT the arrow key do not work so cannot change to scan mode or enter frquencies.
Suspect capcitor has blown But is there a reset to empty the memory.
Any ideas warmly welcome
