The diggersaurus clears years of vegetation and general rubbish from around our WWII era hangar that we are trying to save.

All wooden truss construction and originally tarpaper roof since covered in corrugated iron.


1200 pilots learned to fly at Ashburton during WWII and this sad building is one of the very few things left of that time.

Hi, there are very few if any of these surviving elsewhere in NZ and I have not found any exactly the same elsewhere.

Unfortunately the museum has not been able to get possession of this hangar and the owner is allowing the roofing to blow away in the wind.
