Who remembers it. . . . . . .

Who wants it back . . . . . . .

How do we petition the powers that be to reinstate it . . .

Any thoughts/recollections/opinions ?

It was sometimes akin to jetblast ( I remember one particular thread from some female poster claiming to have known some pilot way way back, one wag responded that after 15 years she would assuredly not recognise him, but could he still nail her . . . well, can't capture it in one sentence, but. . .what bout it ? ) I think it was sufficiently removed from Jet Blast to warrant re-inclusion.

Very useful for those drunken evenings when no-one (especially er indoors) understands you. . . .not that , that EVER happens to me :(

I derived much help from Agony Aunt (and I also contributed to it) during a difficult period of my life.

I would be interested to see it return, but I'm not sure that it would be treated with respect.

Do the pages still exist in the archive? If so we could derive entertainment from re-reading them.

It would be interesting to see old screen-names and ponder 'where are they now?'.

That would mean TnT* might have to be resurrected.. eek!

G-CPTN,

the pages did exist in archive few years back, I am not sure if they are still available.

Yes, I like to have it back it can be really useful and fun.

Multiple personalities, attention seeking, having 'arguments' with yourself :} Loved it! There were many threads that were helpful to people, but it seemed to become the revier of a gang of posters that seemed to want to hash out their social squabbles on pprune. This was before fakebook really morphed out of the university arena.

Btw, the old threads are still available for those nostalgic souls amongst us.

Multiple personalities, attention seeking, having 'arguments' with yourself Loved it!

Not to forget the deliberate sh!t stirring for some, albeit behind the scenes.

As someone once wrote, there was too much agony in the aunt.

Well that's a relief. One's pen these days isn't mightier than the sword.

I heard that Marge had retired to a Nursing Home. Rumour has it that she is suffering from dementia brought on by having to pick a careful course through the minefield of advice for all those years.

Good to hear that Marge ;) can't remember the agony and the ecstasy the forum used to cause.

When I revealed the Rivitess, after 48 years together, had decided not to like her debonair and quite faultless husband anymore, some fellow PPRuNers were very kind. Indeed, one offered his home for me to use. But, when it comes to it, we have to endure these things alone, though having said that, a 25 year-old nymphomaniac who liked good wine and kinky sex wouldn't go amiss.:}

Hello dears!

I am still available on my 1-900 number, but my confidentiality agreement and retainer with PPRuNe doesn't expire until 2015. All assuming I don't expire before then of course. :)
My life has been sponge, fruit, and custard lately, but you don't want to hear my trifling problems!

As my good friend Eartha said at the 1991 PPRuNe staff Christmas party:

Oh, God, Cape!! :)

Well, if it weren't just one Aunt, there would be multiple Uncles to solve all the problems right here, JB?

Every time the car's stalled it's always been
a fuel pump fault. Debris in the line causes
the car not to start esp when the wife has
let the fuel tank drop to an extremely low
level.

Never been caught with a neighbor's 19yo
daughter (yet!) :E

Ah yes, Agony Aunt!!....I well remember posting about a male friends utter despair at his wife's 'Disposing' of him, and in a rather nasty way at that....only to be flamed mercilessly by a rampant misandrist  (?) ...... served to remind that sexism is well and truly around and most certainly not a one way street!!:yuk:

Yes, better off without a dedicated 'AA'

Don't you think that so much of the misandry on AA was caused by suppressed sexual desire manifesting itself in furious frustration at the objects of lustful longing?

Yes... but, no shortage of wrought and diswrought souls here. Perhaps Dina Morfig could do for the role. She's not at all shy, and highly quotable.

I believe that "they" generally replaced Agony Aunt etc. when "they" eventually put even JB into what is now known as the "PPRuNe social" category... :(

Years ago in "Bike" magazine (gentlemen please, it was about motorcycles) they had an 'agony aunt' column entitled Auntie Agony, a dominatrix type who had little patience with the weaker sex and his numerous insecurities and frailties, or those of his motorbike either. All highly entertaining.

I really enjoyed it; I'd love to see it back. For some reason, the powers-that-be seem adamant, but I've never seen an explanation as to why.
