One of only two privately owned and airworthy English Electric Canberras flew out of Bournemouth on Friday at 14:00. WJ680, a TT.18, is en route to its new owners at the Temora Aviation Museum, Australia.

On [Saturday 11 May] the crew are sleeping in Egypt after three totally uneventful flights. Bournemouth - Genoa was reached on schedule but the weather in Malta was too bad, so they slept in Genoa then transited Malta-Heraklion-Egypt today.

Next leg is to Bahrain which necessitates overflying Saudi - and they are being slow with clearances. Hopefully, these will come through
overnight and they'll be able to fly to Muscat, Oman via Bahrain tomorrow.

WJ680's departure leaves only WK163 for air show flying now.

I'm very proud to have them both in my log book!

Flown them both meself - how I miss those cartridge starts, assymetric flying, assymetric electric socks, hours on task being shot at and the Spanish exchange pilot - Manuel Airplot.

Yes, top machines

Happy to be one of a select few who keep WK163 airborne.

Will we have the pleasure of WK163's company at any shows this year then?

I've flown in '680 as a passenger myself, on the Rumbold seat, many many years ago when she was with No.7 Squadron.

Yes, we'll be about a round the end of June, start of July.

Aircraft comming to the end of its major. This was a little more involved this time around as all the 5 year lifed items needed replacing.

Marvellous. Now tell us it's in intruder camo with an offset canopy and a gunpack, I know at least one thread-starter who'd probably need new trousers if you did that...

Yes, I know him!

I think he's still happy to see it even though its only a B6.
