Hello!
I would like to know if anybody is working for Germania?
How is it there?
How are the contracts for experienced FO's?
Is it expensive to live in Germany?
How is the future in Germania, are they perfoming well, or?
If anybody has been at their assesment in Berlin, then it would be appreciated if you could pm me with some details about it.

I recall reading the Germania B737 Ops manual many years ago. What surprised me was a paragraph which stated: "Under no circumstances will manual flight be performed during line flying."
With that sort of myopic attitude by management that was one operator I would not want to work for...:ugh:

Germania do pay-to-fly only these days, don't they. A pilot wouldn't apply for such.

I also would like to know how GMI is doing. I got an offer from them and I have more than 3000h on the bus and I would like to go back to Germany although I have a safe job abroard.
So any infos are very appreciated.
Unless you are really really desperate, stay away from these people.
BTW. the offer is for a summer contract only and you will definitely not get a permanent. It seems they upgraded their last FOs to CPTs with crap salary and the rest of the FOs are P2F only. Germania kind of invented P2F about 20 years ago.:ugh:

EAM, this is defnitely not true.
They offered me a one year contract and there are still some normal copilots, not only P2f.
Well, than go for it and have fun. :ok:
Maybe its better than Wizzair, maybe not, but if you are just flying as a hobby,
who cares :cool:

If they are P2F they never seem to advertise it as such, and for FO positions they require time on type, so where is the P2F?

I got an offer for 1 possible 2 years contract, no P2F as I heard it. The salary was as on PPJN, so with 30% tax its questionable, especially living in Germany.
If you have hours on type you can have the chance for upgrade over the winter.
I did not go because it was a contract instead of perm job, which is risky now a days, and the package is not that good either for a German base.
Probably good for somebody who has no job or who is flying in ****ty places and wishes to get to EU.

Seems to be some UK bases for S14! Flight Crew advert for LGW & Cabin Crew for LGW, NWI and MAN!
I'm assuming an ACMI deal for someone?!?

Working in another industry and hold a license. I was surprised when reading ppjn salaries for Germania and other companies. In regards to the pay, lack of benefits like pension and being contracts only. Other industries offer highly trained professionals, good overall packages.
Why would someone want to now train to be a commercial pilot with all that is involved, then maybe expected to pay for a rating or consider a pay to fly scheme. Then possibly spend years paying off debts / slowly getting salary or hourly increments and not a lot more possibly.

I see they are now looking for Pilots for their ZRH base.
Any more current info as this is for A320 not 737. Have a good postion at the moment but just curious, as Interested in ZRH. I am not P2F, I have 4800 hrs on type.

Hello!
Germania looks for NTR FO and asks for theoretical ATPL issued by LBA (I have a french fATPL).
Does anyone know if they are recruiting Germans only?
Is the OACI german level 4 a hard job for a B2 german speaker?
Boeing or Airbus, is there a particular choice to maximise a base?
Self funded or bonded TR?
Which base is most likely for a new joiner?
Permanent or seasonal contract?
Any advice appreciated.

Hi guys,
I was invited to the Germania assessment on very short notice. I've about 700 hours an piston a/c, no mulitcrew or turbine experience. My understanding from various forum posts is SSTR followed by contract.
Can one reasonably expect to stay longer at the company, or will they dump you at the first possibility in favour of new SSTR candidates? What's the climate in the inside? Any choice of bases?
Thanks for all insights, of course also concerning the assessement.
