During this week's QF vs. VA battle, it has been mentioned that QF holds airspace priority rights. Can someone explain what this means from an operational point of view?

It means the journalist who wrote the article does not know what they are talking about.

There is no such thing.

Agreed, no such thing as commercial airspace priority rights, that is just reporter pony pooh. The only priority I am aware of is the one given in an aircraft emergency, or if you are Airforce One!
Then again, don't give the Guvmint any ideas as before you know it they will be doing exactly that - flogging airspace priority rights to the highest bidder!!!

They are not alone!

Many moons ago, QF,SQ and BA all used to arrive about 0500-0530.

QF always seemed to use the most runway, even though there were ALL 744's,and all landing on 34L.

Yep! From 5am only....

As mentioned above....

So does BA, SQ, Thai, and Qantas!

Next conspiracy theory!

The statement is inline with the topic and is factual, no need to consider any conspiracy :hmm:

QF always seemed to use the most runway,

Maybe because QF 747s use less reverse and flap than world's best practice? :E
