Emirates Airlines favouring expats

Just a question regarding EK & other major carriers in middle east.


Is it true that these airlines favor pilots from UK, USA, Canada and Australia to the rest of the world for example Russia? or Bangladesh?


The question relates to employment.

I suspect any supposed bias is based around the an airline (and especially its bean counters) preferring to recruit from those ranks whom (based upon prior statistical and / or empirical evidence) have a high likelihood of passing the assessment & subsequent training, etc, imho.

AFAIK invitation to assessment is purely based on relevant qualifications and experience.

Success from then is based on performance.

If a particular group tends to be more successful than another, it's probably because the environment they operate in gives them 1) the relevant experience to make selection, and 2) more training in the skills held relevant at EK.

Where someone os from makes no difference in itself.

What that means about what they've done and how they've been trained may make ALL the difference as to whether they are successful.
