Singapore Airlines SQ322 A380 9V-SKJ just returned to SIN after flying outover west coast Malaysia to almost Penang, then turning back.

No factual news yet, but looking at routing and decent on turn-back then return alt, it looks, on first evidence, similar to a loss of cabin pressure whilst in cruise at FL300.

Kenja it probably descended because it intended to land back at Singapore......when would you expect it to start its descent on a normal approach, probably before Penang!!!!!

@OwnNav.....that was replacement a/c doing delayed flight.

@fergineer.....no, definite out-going flight was cruising at 30,000 feet nearing Penang, did sudden turn and rapid decent to approx 10,000 feet then return SIN at this altitude.

Hi guys,
Anyone any the wiser what happened to SQ's A380 9V-SKJ on this flight?

Just that I'm intrigued and, try as I can, I cannot find one snippet of info from any forum or the web in general about why this a/c had to suddenly decend and return to SIN.

What I can glean is that the a/c is appearing to be still on the ground at Changi some +24 hours later.

Maybe there is a tech problem with the aircraft , By all accounts these crop up now and again (cannot think why in this day and age)

However it keeps all those overpaid engineers in work and provides endless speculation for the technical experts on here who could given the chance fly / fix them far better than those useless pilots and engineers the airlines insist on employing
