Does anyone know why EK434 BNE/AKL circled Auckland for nearly an hour today? The first time I saw it the aircraft was downwind over Devonport in a normal position, then about 20 minutes later I watched it heading north over the Hauraki Gulf like it was on a track to KLAX ex RWY 23L. The Auckland Airport arrival website kept putting the ETA back by about 15 minutes each time.
The third time I saw the aircraft it was once again downwind abeam Devonport and then suddenly veered to port and headed north again. It finally landed, I think, about 1530.
I looked at flightaware.com and could see the radar loops that is carried out over auckland.
Anyone know what happened please - Just curious ??
