Now here's a glorious bit of trivia I discovered by accident. The serial number of the Valiant tanker in "High Encounter" is XD 816. Being curious I asked Mr. Google what he knew of the aircraft. It turned out that - according to Mr. Google - this was the last flying Valiant and the nose section at least is in Brooklands museum.

It is indeed. It used to be in the Stratosphere chamber but has been moved across to the Wellington hangar. It is not positioned ideally for viewing these days as it is in a corner of the hangar for now.
