Lets just say there's a bit of weather around and getting vectored around, if I have to join the ils closer than the IAF can I legitimately continue with the ils?

Can't find any reference either way

I believe you just have to be established on the LOC/GS by the FAF. I also can't find a reference; happy to be disproven.

It's located as a note on the ILS chart if vectoring or tracking from a STAR is possible inside the IAF. Usual limitation is the aircraft must be established on the approach prior to the FAF.

AIP ENR 1.6 3.11 provides guidance as to vectors for final.

GPS approaches in CTA you can be vectored to the intermediate waypoint as per AIP ENR 1.5 2.4.
