I'd have said Norwich, looking at the Air UK planes in the background, but that car looks like it's Jim Bergerac's, so yes it could be Jersey.

"Jim Bergerac's car " .... Aaaah .... the two 1949 Triumph Roadsters Model 2000  - Reg 1610J – The engine noise was said to be so awful, the BBC used a Jaguar Purr instead. :ooh: Up for auction this Nov 13th at Harrogate.

On the other hand the Friendship's engine note was pure Dart :ok:

It is not Jersey as no part of the airport had that pattern of concrete and it cannot be early/mid eighties as that Air UK colour scheme was first seen on G-UKFC in July 1992.

My guess would be the eastern ramp at Norwich before the helicopter hangar was built.

And I've just realised that that F-27 survives at Norwich today, in this livery, in the museum there: 662 Norwich 17 07 07 F27e | Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/48975048@N06/5671231026/in/photolist-9D9xph/lightbox/)

Fantastic replies. I just found it in a box of pics the other day as I've just moved house.

Well spotted it was Norwich. Not sure of the date but I think around 2000.

I owned the car back in the 1970's/80 and sold it to a friend in Jersey. It was used as one of the two other dopplegangers in the series. (It was easier to arrange sets/shoots with spare cars. This was one of the two 2000 Roadsters the other being an 1800 which had the tail pipe on the wrong side. He managed to get the registration from the Jersey States.

When my friend got too old to use it I brought it back to the UK to sell and a friend who was a captain with Air UK took the picture. (Philthepilot)

The Triumph Roadster in the picture was KXK96 before getting it Jersey reg.
I should have kept the reg number but hey ho.

Can you pass the picture on to the museum. Air UK had great links with Jersey.

Phil The Pilot is still flying and must be one of the most experienced turboprop jocks still flying in to London City having done twice a day for over a decade.

I've still got fond memories of being in the jump seat of the F50 taking off from the terminal on the old short cross runway.

It's wonderful to see the airframe is still preserved. Norwich was a wonderful airport in the days of Air Anglia and Air UK when the airport was owned by the local council.

I can't say the same about the place today.
