Turbo-props in SEA

Hi All

How is the market doing for turboprops like B1900, ATR 42/72, Dash Q400 in South East Asia specially China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines with growing population and more people are commuting

Need informations if there is corporate jet market in the region.

Asia/china is the worlds fastest corporate jet market. China has over 300 jets, Hong Kong is 80 plus, Malaysia about 30, Indo about 40.steady growth of turbo props in those countries.

If you have TRE/ TRI quals or 1250 TPIC total & 500 pic on either ATR72 or Q400, you can look at 2 Indian companies. Jet Airways is always looking for ATR captains & Spicejet in India is looking for Q400 skippers...

Hi Siduk...sorry I am not into buying or selling turbo-props in Msia. I'm an Air traffic Ctler.If you are marketing turbo-props, kindly let the manufacturers to produce commuters that have better rate of climb (the ATR produces very poor climb rates though very good in descent and this is why SIN Changi accepts them). We Ctlers prefer both. Here they climb around 500-600ft. Too slow for us. Its a yawn to see them reach cruising altitudes of F150-170. My 2 cents:ok:

I don't think you will ever see the manufactures putting bigger engines in to increase performance, that will mean more fuel/ less payload. I flew turbo props in the Middle East for 3 years in temperatures sometimes over 50 degrees C!good thing the controllers are friendly the world over!

Veloo, I doubt very much that aircraft manufacturers would take in to account the needs of ATCers when designing their aircraft. Mixing turbo-prop traffic with jet traffic occurs all over the world, not just in Malaysian airspace. I know it's extra work for ATCers to separate the two but, but I've experienced some very good controllers who happily cater for the needs of the two types of traffic.

TW..well aware that they will not consider Ctlers views when it comes to engine performance. Yes..we are catering these slow climbers daily within our TMA. Can someone let me know the Go-around speed and rate of climb for an ATR in bad weather. Many thanks.:ok:

a rough gauge? i would say go around is probably around 100KIAS
