Hello All,

I would like to know from well experienced Global drivers, which way that would be the best to get the maximum range out of it.

Now, please i understand what the books say.... But i wanna know it out of real experience.

Any hint would be great... Regarding climb and cruise for Maximum range....(epr/m.80/m.83/lrc etc...)

Many thanks,

Lotuslash

Follow published Optimum FLs (typically you'll start at FL390/400 and finish at FL470), 250 KIAS/M.80 for climb and descent, LRC (slightly above M.80 if you can follow OPT FLs).

My experience with disconnecting the A/THR (to maintain published fuel flows found in the FPCCM) is limited, but on one occurence we flew the advertised range (5200NM for a 5000) in 11h36 with 4000 lbs remaining (Europe to South Africa). This method requires a bit of effort though.

Also try non standard FLs in less dense ATC areas (works well above Kazakhstan if flying London or Paris-Hong Kong as FL430 is usually the OPT when reaching this country).

In real life with typical European step climb to initial cruise (FL390ish at max weight) and realistic BOW's of around 53,500lb, I would say 12H 45 @ M.82 is your lot and landing with 3,000lb but uplifting warm fuel in the summer will knock 30 minutes off this.

I just did a 12h 51min. (blocktime) m.83 (no AT) 5455nm flight. with initially 43900lbs of fuel and remaining 4000lbs with non standard Fl 470! ( we even had to use anti ice in climb)

You guys are correct its a pain in the a..... That i cannot fuel it to the max. Capacity, in which i have the impression is extrem on the Global conpared to the plane i flew before ( G550)!

Do you know any procedure like:
Until 80'000lbs grossweight m.85 and then LRC?

How do you deal with angle of attack indication ( above .50 ....)

Many thanks for your respone and open discussion.....

43900 lbs, yes typical! Only in Montréal you'll see 45100 lbs... eventually

Never heard the .85/LRC after 80000 lbs.

Do you try MAN refuel sometimes? AUTO will limit the amount. Also, I did a couple of "2 steps" refuelling and once could add 700lbs in LAX after an hour with the APU running.
And of course, wings/fuselage level is optimum (Delta ramp in FAB is not!).

When topping up manual fueling works best for us on G5000 (36000#). Wait 20 minutes and try again for a bit more.

recently flown the distance of 6350 nm and flight time 13:40 with m0.80 in FL450-470, remaining about 1800 kg of fuel
