Rate of descent.

Just out of curiosity, what is the rate of descent in feet per minute of a B737 at touchdown. Its been 20 years since i last worked on Aircraft (engineering not crew) and i need to settle an argument, there is beer at stake. I seem to recall 800 fpm.

Hopefully, as close to zero as possible. The VSI digits disappear as you get below about 200fpm in the flare, but I'd guess it's somewhere around 50 or less.

I do believe -50 and -300fpm is a ballpark figure.

Over -500fpm on a 737 requires a hard landing check, I think?
