View Full Version : Kjos flying the 787 in Norway
Do the FARs open for passengers at the controls of widebody jets during demonstration flights with press onboard? Hand-flying a 787 at 16,000' over Norway.

I don't think that FAR's are valid in Norway...
Btw, Kjos used to be a fighter pilot in the RNoAF.
Jimmy, you are not being very helpful.
The aircraft was N registered (N787BX) so yes, the FARs most likely apply.
As for Mr.Kjos being an ex-fighter pilot. What's your point? I fly a 737 on a daily basis, but would have my license revoked and my company investigated if I ever took a operating seat of a widebody with a cabin full of passengers without a valid rating. Unless you're arguing there's a CCQ between the Lockeed 104 starfighter and the Boeing 787?
I've never heard of a non rated/non-licensed CEO being seated at the controls of a widebody out of Seattle, regardless of it being an acceptance flight, delivery flight or a demonstration flight.

BK milks his image as an ex-fighter pilot for all its worth. He did attend fighter school but ended up flying the Twin Otter.

He flew the CF-104 with 334 Sqdn.
Anyway, ENSA has opened another thread under Rumours and News.

The aircraft is probably exerimental reg. , and no paying passengers. Might be other regulations in such ops. The guy flying in the right seat does not have a 787 ticket either, so guess its totally legal.
