Dear all,

I am looking into the murder of Gordon Edwards (1255157 RAFVR) and Walter Adamson (943246 RAFVR) by bushmen in Botswana in 1943. This followed a forced landing after getting lost on a flight from RAF Kumalo (Bulawayo). They were given shelter by a group of Bushmen before being shot and the bodies burnt, allegedly to cover up illegal hunting. The trial made world wide headlines. If anyone has any more info on this (I have everything on the internet, including the work by Prof Hitchcock!) it would be greatly appreciated.

I am working with Gordon's family and have quite a bit of info, although his time as a mechanic in Russia with 151 Wing lacks detail. However, I am lacking any info on Walter Adamson - if anyone can help?!

If anyone has memories or photos from RAF Kumalo or Hillside from the time I would love to hear from you.

Many Thanks
