Guys,

I have an interest in the fate of an Australian, A.J.B. 'Titus' Oates.
He was a WW2 pilot and post war commercial pilot.

He was involved in Australian aviation industry in the late 1940s through to the 1960s. After that he disappeared.

I have been advised that he perished in a Crop Dusting accident in South Africa, probably sometime in the early 1960s'.

Can anyone help me flesh out what happened to 'Titus' Oates?

When, where, details?

Another alternative would be to find a history buff who specialises in Aerial Agricultural aviation and may have some data on the answer to my query. .
Thank you in advance.

As a follow up I am now of the understanding that the accident happened in Zambia in 1969.

Again, any information welcome.
